I'm in my early twenties
and I don't find it funny
when I look back and see I've wasted time
Decided I'd spend the rest of my days, changin' my ways
Broaden my horizons and open up my mind
That's when it sank in, this is a new beginnin'
When it hit me, just what I had to do
"Well, what ya do?"
And I said

[Chorus]

I saw Helge Schneider
I knocked back hard apple cider
I Flake danced my way through a local shop or two
I dressed neater and I
took in some theater
and I tried to be anything but a rocker
Life's been sweet since I made the choice
To live like I was Flake.

I said I finally was a smarty
Life of the party
I became the friend a friend won't admit they have
All of the sudden watchin' TV
lost all its glory
And I finally learned how to tell off my dad.
Well, I finally read some good books.
And got some really weird looks when I wore
silver hot pants all over town.
I love me now
That:

[Chorus]

Each tomorrow is a gift and I've got eternity
Think what Flake would do with it
That's what I will do with it, what Flake'd
do with it, that's what I'll do with it.

[Chorus]

Helge Schneider
I knocked back hard apple cider
I Flake danced my way through a local shop or two
I dressed neater and I
took in some theater
and I know you find it to be a shocker
That life's been sweet since I made the choice
To live like I was Flake.

To live like I was Flake.
To live like I was Flake.
To live like I was Flake.
To live like I was Flake.
